2004 Pontiac GTO(sold)

"Blue" 1 of 478/15,740

This page is dedicated to our former GTO Coupe. The GTO is a fantastic car that, in my opinion, has never received the praise it deserves. That could be due to the fact that it is an import. Originally manufactured and sold in Australia as a Holden Monaro, GM brought this car stateside with a few changes(Pontiac body work, relocated gas tank, left hand drive), rebadged it as a GTO and sold it as a halo car. A three year, 45,000 unit production run was all that was ever planned for this car and it delivered.

It has aggressive yet subtle styling, true to its GTO roots. I have always viewed this vehicle as a refined true 2+2 sports coupe that definitely fits the definition of a sleeper. This car generates plenty of horsepower from it's all aluminum 5.7 liter(2004) Gen III LS1 motor, rated at 350 hp at the flywheel, 365 lb/ft of torque, and 0-60 times of 5.3 seconds. Thru very mild use of the aftermarket and a good tuner I managed to dyno this vehicle at 332 hp at the wheels, 382 hp at the flywheel(est.), and 346 lb/ft of torque.

Sadly, "Blue" is no longer a part of the family. I do still see her locally once in a while so that always puts a smile on my face. She was a great car for me and I will always have a soft spot in my heart for her!
